Oh wait, do you not want me to share the pattern if the tree is going to be auctioned? It’s ok if you don’t, I completely understand!

By all means, if it is for charity please pass the pattern along :) Please send me pics of the tree, I’d love to see it! I’ll make an edit to the Legalites part of the pattern as soon as I get home. I’m on dial up at my office and can’t really do much of anything >:(

Hi, Love the little hat! I am new to knitting and wonder if it has to be made with 3 dp needles…I have only used single pointed needles! Thanks!

  4. coco8199 Says:

It would be possible to knit on straight needles if instead of joining to knit in the round, knit in stockinette and then seam up the sides.

I would love to see a photo of the hat when you make it :)

Hi1 I am the person (beginner knitter) who asked about knitting this tiny hat on straight needles. I didn’t take a photo yet, but my white rim seems larger in proportion to the top of the hat. I used size 4 us needles and worsted yarn. I feel like I should only do 2 rows of white and maybe add a few rows of the red. I am ready to bind off and the top part looks so small. it doesn’t look like yours….could it be because I am not using dp needles? My white part also wants to curl up. Any suggestions????
    Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Terry

Terry, It sounds like more of a tension issue than a needle issue. If you would like, maybe try changing up the rows a bit like you suggested. Let me know how it works out for you :)
