At first, I didn’t like this binding. After the book was finished, I really love it. I’ll be using it again.
Title: Sunny Days
Inside: Warm Sunny Days, My Front Porch, Becomes The Perfect, Spot To Dry Yarn & Paint
I kind of like this book because you can hang it up if you want. The poem is called the Fairy & Child and is only the first verse:
Fairy & Child
Oh, listen, little Dear-My-Soul,
To the fairy voices calling,
For the moon is high in the misty sky,
And the honey dew is falling;
To the midnight feast in the clover bloom,
The bluebells are a-ringing,
And it’s “come away to the land of fay”
That the katydid is singing.
I spent the entire day in the studio today. I managed to make eight books for my Year of Handmade Books Project. I’ll be posting about them over the next several days.
This is a Brush Book. The book says inside: All Work And No Play Makes Me A Sad Girl. All Play And No Work Makes Me A Poor Girl. Where’s The Mean?
I spent the whole day in the studio. I went in with the intention of doing things I’ve never done before. I made a book using the Secret Belgian Binding and carved my first stamp.
I made this book from a Goodwill find and some left over paper from another book. Bound with waxed linen thread.
The spine didn’t feel too secure, so I added a headband so it wouldn’t slip out.
I used some pages from the book for end papers.
