I had another proper weekend and I tried to enjoy it to the fullest. Saturday morning I spent some time in the studio getting started on a recycled book project.
This little guy needed some cuddling while I was waiting for glue to dry.
Saturday afternoon, I went to the town festival with my mom and then went shopping with my husband. The town festival ended with fireworks which me and Raisin watched from the front yard.
We spent today at the lake swimming and soaking up some sun. I love the feeling after a good day of swimming in the sunshine. Time spent at Jacobs Creek always clears my mind and soothes my soul.
This week, I’m still plugging away on the Hitchhiker. I’m up to almost 20 of 42 points.
I’ve finished the first bobbin of the Midnight roving.
I’ve pre-drafted part of the second half of the roving and I’m ready to start the second bobbin.
Also, that adorable little basket was made by my friend Mary. It’s the perfect size to house two pints of jam but I found it to be the perfect spinning basket.
Today is Tuesday so that means it’s How To’s-Day!
The Moss Stone Moebius Cowl that I designed (and the pattern will be available on Ravelry shortly) uses Cat Bhordi’s Moebius Cast On. Her video for how to use this cast on is easy to follow and very informative.
I’ve got to thank Pandora for this one. It gets stuck in my head and I really don’t mind. I absolutely love the Roots.
I have a rare proper weekend this weekend. I have so many things I want to do! First, I’m going to finish a design I’m working on. It would have been included in the WIP Wednesday this week but… well, I left it somewhere and they were kind enough to mail it back to me. (doh!) If I get it finished today or tomorrow, I’ll be writing up the pattern for Ravelry. I just hope there’s good lighting for photos.
Wednesday, I spent six and a half hours cleaning every surface, item, nook and cranny in my studio. I finished everything except cleaning my work table. I’m planning to clean it off today and hopefully get down to making some books.
On top of all that, I’m going to make pulled chicken barbeque in my slow cooker, make homemade coleslaw, and meringue cookies. There will likely be a bit of dancing around the house since I usually have Pandora on anytime I’m home. If there’s time, I’ll also be working on my projects from the WIP Wednesday post too.
In honor of my proper weekend: Here’s one of my favorite songs, it has been my ringtone for the past 3 years.
Have a good Saturday!!
Some of my patterns are now available through Craftsy! I plan to add more soon.
